Salad dressing can be said as the “sauce” of salad. We can find so many types of salad dressing around the world, especially in United State and Europe. Some types of salad dressing that we can find are thousand island, mayonnaise, blue ranch, blue cheese, salad cream, vinaigrettes, miricale whip. Green goddess, and many more. However, the most popular dressing are mayonnaise, thousand island, vinaigrettes and of course the healthy olive oil. Salad is a free fat food that serves nutrients and vitamins. Therefore, we have to be selective on choosing the dressing so it will not ruin all the beneficial compositions. If we are not sure with the instant salad dressing recipes, then we can make it by ourselves.

On choosing the dressing, make sure than is light and low fat. Generally, salad dressing is divided into two types: vinaigrette and creamy dressing. The vinaigrette dressing is an oil based or vinegar dressing such as olive oil, soybean oil, apple vinegar, and many others. On the other side, creamy dressing is using buttermilk, cream, yogurt, and various the sour creams that we can find. All types of salad dressing are suit the salad, but based on a research, oil and vinegar based salad dressings are one that can give various benefits for body. The fresh salad dressing is the best one, and we can practice the salad dressing recipes in our home because it can be easily made.

Among all salad dressing recipes, this recipe can be the simplest one. ½ cup of vinegar, 1 tea spoon salt, ¼ cup of oil, ½ cup of lemon juice, 1 onion, 1/3 cup of ketchup, 2/3 cup of sugar, and ½ tea spoon of paprika. Mix all the ingredients and beat it. When it is perfectly mixed, we can directly pour it on our salad.
